So one of your friends or family members is having a baby, congratulations to them! You want to get them a gift, but you don't know what it is they want or need. Hopefully this article will be able to help you out a little bit.

Sometimes before a baby shower the new parents will register somewhere and pick out the stuff they need for the new addition to the family, allowing you to get them a gift and they get what they want. Of course getting a dressy outfit for the kid is nice, but think practicality as well. Baby's also grow out of clothes fast which is a good thing to remember. Having funny t-shirts keeps the baby looking good and provides mom and dad with easy care.

If you happen to be very strapped for cash, little things like offering to help around the house when the baby comes or offering to run and do some errands when are a huge help. You can always design a nice card with a "coupon" inside with the offer on it. Having a baby is tough work, and I'm sure the new parents will be a bit nervous so offering your help and support will mean a lot to them. The thought of the gift usually counts the most, so if you think about it I am sure that with this list and some knowledge of the perspective parents you will be able to come up with a thoughtful and great gift.
