An Easy Way to Potty Train Your Toddler

Children should be taught to get toilet discipline at an early age. When they start to show interest, parents should allot time for them to learn it. Potty training is very essential as a child's learning towards discipline starts from there.

When your child starts to gather interest towards using a toilet or he/she does not want to wear diapers anymore, it serves as a hint of doing the training.

What to remember when executing toilet training

Every child can learn discipline if they would be guided to proper training. However, there are a few guidelines to how parents should do the training.

When handling a child, there should be gentleness towards him. Give them some time to familiarize themselves with the toilet or the potty chair. With that situation a child will develop an understanding of the training so that he can learn easily.

Also, a child needs to get a break. When he feels uninterested for a while, do not force him to continue. He may get tantrums if you force him and you might end up confronting him.

Doing the actual potty training

After your child is familiar with the training, it's time that you do the training properly. When you start the training, the first thing that you need to know is your child's way of saying that he/she needs to pee. Though children might not actually say it, they can show signs and it is a good way to start the training.

Then, after some time, let them know what you are actually asking them to do. The first thing to do if you want to potty train your child is to forget about disposable diapers for a while. Let your child roam around in cloth diapers and when you think nature is calling him, sit him on the potty chair with the cloth diaper off.

When doing the potty training, get consistent with the way that you teach your child. A routine to teach your child would be better. They also respond to prizes such as food or a time for playing would get them motivated. Always be sure to follow a certain routine each time you teach them.

Your child could get the best motivation from you. With the proper encouragement, you can help a child get more interested in the potty training.

If you are personally teaching your child, always remember to have patience. When a child commits a mistake even for the nth time, never treat him harshly for he might lose interest in the training.
