How To Decorate A Baby Nursery

If you are looking for creative ways to decorate a baby nursery the sky is the limit in terms of what sort of decorative accents you can use. No longer do nurseries strictly have to be in shades of pink or blue. Gone are the days when all baby rooms had to be basic and gender specific. Nowadays you can create magical nurseries in shades like apple green or sandy beige. You can create all sorts of stunning looks for your baby to grow up in simply by featuring different unexpected items with your child's nursery decor.

One option that is very popular is to create a room using jungle animals. You can paint the walls a lighter sand color which provides a great backdrop for oversized animal stencils on the walls you can feature a giraffe stencil in the corner or on the closet doors. You can place a tiger stencil underneath a low window. You can even stencil a herd of elephants prancing across a wall. You can place stuffed animals strategically around the room including on window sills and on the changing table too.

Another decorating option that you can consider is to opt for educational items like building blocks and numbers. This look again looks great when featured against a more neutral tone. Brightly colored alphabet blocks can be painted on the walls. You can have oversize numbers climbing a set of steps along the wall leading to the window sill. You can even place wooden alphabet blocks on the window sill and use them to spell out different words. With this look it is all about creating a cohesive look that will grow with your child as they get older. Once they are old enough to start learning words and numbers then their bedroom will be the perfect learning environment to pick up all sorts of educational ideas.

No matter how you choose to decorate a baby nursery it is important to create an environment that can transition with your child without having to completely redecorate the entire space. Unless you enjoy the idea of repainting every couple of years you are much better off picking a more neutral tone and then using removable items to create the rest of the look. Stencils can be removed from walls. Stuffed animals can be donated to charity or given to younger siblings. Keep changing the accent pieces but keep the basic color the same and you have baby nursery that will easily transition into a toddler room without a great deal of redecorating.
